Gulf Coast Kid's House is proud to partner with our local school teachers, students and parents. On this site, we will share important information about keeping the children of our community safe.
Throughout the school year, our Prevention Team will be teaching the Monique Burr Foundation's research-based MBF Child Safety MattersTM and MBF Teen Safety MattersTM programs which educate and empower children and teens about the dangers present in society today and how to help adults keep them safe. Topics covered are developmentally appropriate and use child-friendly language. Videos, discussions and activities are fun and engaging.
Each presentation will include the 5 Safety Rules that can be used throughout a child's life and in a variety of situations. The 5 Safety Rules include:
TEACHERS AND COUNSELORS: Please make sure that Parents are aware that they have the option to Opt-Out of the presentation by filling out the appropriate forms below. We also offer Parent Programs for each school so that they can learn the material to share with their children.
Please have your students complete the on-line Pre-Assessment for the appropriate grade, prior to our arrival for your scheduled presentation of MBF Child Safety MattersTM or MBF Teen Safety MattersTM. Once we have completed Part 2 of the presentation, please have your students complete the Post-Assessment within 1 week. It should take the students approximately 1-2 minutes. We have partnered with the University of West Florida on this project.

Gulf Coast Kid's House, in partnership with the Monique Burr Foundation is pleased to offer the information below to help you recognize, react responsibly and report child abuse. It is important to know that EVERY PERSON OVER THE AGE OF 18 IN FLORIDA IS REQUIRED BY LAW TO REPORT SUSPECTED CHILD ABUSE. Make a report when you have a reasonable suspicion of abuse. Reporters making a good faith report are protected from liability and may remain anonymous.
It takes one caring adult to make a big difference in a child's life. BE A SAFE ADULT!
